Berlin International School
The Berlin International School (B.I.S), a non-profit organisation, is the newest branch of the independent school foundation Private Kant-Schule eV, which opened in August 1998. Since then the school has expanded enormously and, therefore, relocated to Lentzeallee 8/10 and 12/14, in a residential neighbourhood in south-western Berlin. The new campus unites all sections of B.I.S from Early Childhood Center 'Kita International' through to Primary and Secondary School. The bilingual educational program (German/English) is offered to children from the ages of 3 to 19. The educational program is modelled on the objectives of the Berlin school regulations as well as the transdisciplinary curriculum framework for international schools. Berlin International School (B.I.S) aims to attract both an international transient population and local students. Support in English and German as second languages is available if needed. The school offers all German school examinations including the German Abitur. IB Diploma examinations took place in May 2002 for the first time. The Primary School is working towards IBPYP authorization. Teaching hours at Berlin International School (B.I.S) are from 8:30 to 15:30. Child care for children at the Kita International and Primary School is available upon request. A hot lunch is served daily and a school bus service is offered, too. International Schools |
